The next phase...

After all of the hubbub of the wedding and driving cross-country, Jessi and I were pretty beat and Jessi had started getting sick. We didn't really have time to relax, however, as Jessi's family had invited us up to Dallas for New Year's Eve. Jessi' Dad drover her, Nick and I up to Dallas for the weekend where we had a blast with her family.

New Year's Day we went into Fort Worth where we went to this place called the Stockyards - an old train depot where they'd drop off all of the live stock and cattle. They have turned it into a quaint little shopping center with restaurants and novelty gift shops. They even do a cattle drive through the town with real live cowboys driving the famous longhorn cattle. We left Dallas that afternoon and arrived back home that evening.

The next few weeks went by without much happening. Jessi got her job back at Charming Charlie - a shop dedicated to accessories and color-coordination; and I took up my position as house-husband as I was still waiting for my work visa. The months rolled by and we were finally getting ready to move up to Idaho.

The journey to Idaho was going to take 24 hours and we, again, had to split it up into 3 different days. Fortunately for us, Jessi's uncle was living in Albuquerque and so we were able to stay with him the first night and then the next night we stayed with our friend Cecily in Provo, Utah.

We packed up our little Kia with all (or most) of our belongings (we had to buy a roof rack to fit it all) and we left early in the morning on April 13th and drove for 10 hours to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We stayed the night with Jessi's uncle and then the next morning we left for Provo, which was 9 hours away. We finally got to Provo and had a great night with our friends and then we left for Rexburg, Idaho (4 hour drive) the next morning.

Eventually we made it to Rexburg and got the keys to our little one bedroom apartment.
